The Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch MP
Kemi Badenoch is the Leader of the Conservative Party and Leader of the Opposition, having been elected to lead the party in November 2024. She has served as Member of Parliament for North West Essex (formerly Saffron Walden) since 2017.
She previously held several senior Cabinet roles, including Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Minister for Women and Equalities, and Secretary of State for International Trade under Prime Ministers Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak. Earlier in her career, she served in roles across local government, equalities, and children’s policy, and was a member of the London Assembly from 2015 to 2017.
A long-standing advocate of individual liberty, enterprise, and national sovereignty, Kemi was a prominent supporter of Brexit in the 2016 EU referendum. Her leadership reflects a commitment to pragmatic conservatism, community responsibility, and principled public service.
Alongside her political career, Kemi remains committed to mentoring young people from underrepresented backgrounds and supporting volunteer initiatives focused on education and opportunity.
