Helen Grant OBE MP
Helen Grant is the Conservative Member of Parliament for Maidstone and Malling, elected in 2024 following the abolition of her previous constituency, Maidstone and The Weald, which she represented from 2010. She currently serves as Shadow Solicitor General.
Helen was the first Black woman of mixed heritage elected as a Conservative MP and the first selected to contest a Conservative-held seat. Between 2012 and 2015, she served in ministerial roles including Minister for Sport and Tourism, and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Women and Equalities, and for Justice.
In 2021, she was appointed as the UK Prime Minister’s Special Envoy on Girls' Education, reflecting her longstanding commitment to equality and opportunity.
Alongside her parliamentary work, Helen supports a range of charitable and community causes. She is a trustee of the Human Trafficking Foundation and the Social Mobility Foundation, and regularly offers work experience placements to local students. She also actively champions education initiatives for girls in the UK and globally.
